Napoli have demanded that any club looking to hire Sarri must pay his almost £7 million release clause, something which the club's president Aurelio De Laurentiis stated recently is yet to happen.

It's said Chelsea are unwilling to pay the €8 million (£7 million) release clause it would take to terminate the contract of Sarri, who is still tied to Napoli despite the fact Carlo Ancelotti has been confirmed as his successor.

Metro says that decision "will be made in the next week" with Chelsea expected to part company with their Italian manager.

The relationship with Conte has drastically soured in the last 12 months, with the Italian falling out with the club's hierarchy and key players.

"I would love to see Sarri in the Premier League", the Spaniard told Tuttosport.
