Liverpool FC transfer news Who is Nabil Fekir? Profile on the Reds' rumoured target
Liverpool have agreed to sign Monaco midfielder Fabinho in a deal that could be worth more than £40m.
Fekir is expected to become the Reds' next signing of the summer following their £40 million capture of Monaco midfielder Fabinho on Monday. Raphael Varane has not yet joined up with the squad after winning the Champions League with Real Madrid at the weekend.
According to David Maddock in the Mirror, the £50 million-rated Fekir has told Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas he wants to move to Anfield and is eager for his future to be decided before the start of the Russian Federation tournament on June 14, while Liverpool are looking to open formal talks in the coming week.
"This is something that I always wanted - this is a giant of a team".
"We spoke a bit more about how the city was, about the infrastructure of the club, the city and we also spoke about the coaches and how they do their work".
"We have signed a fantastic player, but someone who is an equally fantastic person I think", Klopp explained to the official club website.
'I will try to create my own history at this football club.
"I like that he is young yet experienced also, with a high number of games at a club that competes to win".

Southampton full-back Matt Targett has been an ever-present in the Fulham side since joining on loan in January. We just needed a break for the goal but we didn't get it.
The Lyon attacker had been closely linked with a move to the Anfield club this summer, though OL president Jean-Michel Aulas said on Friday that he still hoped the France worldwide may yet remain with the Ligue 1 outfit.
Let's take a look at what Fabinho brings and how he will improve this Liverpool team.
"In Ligue 1, it is not only this season that he has demonstrated things". He can play (as a No. 6, No. 8 and No. 2).
Fabinho will be looking to help Liverpool FC challenge for the Premier League title next season after the Reds finished fourth in the table this term.
"He is tactically very strong and football smart".
"He is a very good player, of global level", Fabinho said.
Fekir scored 21 times for Lyon this season, including one in a Europa League victory against Everton at Goodison Park last October.
"This signing gives us new opportunities and for that I am excited".
