Steve Smith to make comeback in Canadian T20 league

Smith and Warner will not be available for Australia until April next year.

However, Smith is now in line to make his comeback in the Global T20 Canada, having been listed as a marquee player at the event's media launch in Toronto on Friday (AEST).

Chris Gayle, Shahid Afridi, Dwayne Bravo, Lasith Malinga, Chris Lynn, Darren Sammy, David Miller, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell have also been named as marquee players, while the likes of Tom Moody and Heath Streak are set to take up coaching roles.

The opener, who is banned from state and global cricket, is due to play domestic matches for Sydney grade club Randwick Petersham in the autumn. The sixth, a Cricket West Indies representative team, will consist entirely of players from the Caribbean, as part of an official partnership with Cricket West Indies (CWI).

Smith, the world's number one Test batsman - was sacked and sent home in disgrace after the third Test against South Africa in March and accepted a 12-month ban from all global and domestic cricket by Cricket Australia for his role in the ball-tampering scandal that rocked cricket.

This would be Steve Smith's first cricket outing after the ball-tampering incident which took place in Cape Town against South Africa in the third Test match.

Milwaukee Police Apologize To Bucks' Brown
Brown left his Mercedes idling across parking lanes while he was in the store, the video released Wednesday shows. Brown, meanwhile, told ABC News anchor Robin Roberts on Thursday that reliving the incident has stoked his anger.

The six teams in the proposed tournament are the Caribbean All-Stars, Toronto Nationals, Montreal Tigers, Ottawa Royals, Vancouver Knights, and Winnipeg Hawks.

"Canadian cricket fans will have a great opportunity to see up close numerous world's greatest players, and I'd like to thank International Cricket Council, CWI and the international cricket community for their guidance and support in growing cricket in Canada", concluded Saini.

Fleming was a key member of Channel 10's successful BBL coverage and also fielded interest from Fox Sports. Why it is only three or four rounds at this stage, I don't know.

While Warner was also banned for a year, Bancroft received a ban of 9 months.

The league has a strong West Indian flavour. Warner has been on the books at Randwick Petersham since 2013/14 after joining from the neighbouring Eastern Suburbs club.
