ABC Cancels ‘Roseanne’ Due To Roseanne Barr’s Racist Tweet

"Tough decision with financial consequences for his company but right for don't bug Bob but maybe someone else find out if I'm still banned from all of @ABCNetwork for calling Roseanne Barr out first on her racist conspiracy tweets?" The tweet was deleted and she said she is leaving Twitter. "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have made a decision to cancel her show", Dungey stated.

Roseanne has since apologized for the tweet. "That's not what he's spending his time on", she told reporters aboard Air Force One.

ABC TV network has dropped a show of Emmy award winning comedian Roseanne Barr after she posted a racist tweet targeting a former aide of Barack Obama and likening the African-American lady to an ape.

One tweet juxtaposed Barr's comparison of Jarrett with an ape to other posts comparing images of Donald Trump to orangutans.

Barr's tweet (now deleted) said that Valerie Jarrett was the child of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Planet of the Apes film.

I can't say that the cancellation affects me in any way. Ambien is a sedative pill used as a sleeping aid. In another tweet: "I apologize".

She cited Ambien again in a later tweet, saying, "Not giving excuses for what I did (tweeted) but I've done weird stuff while on ambien - cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc". We applaud ABC for taking a stand against racism by cancelling 'Roseanne.' We commend the network and ... I will handle my sadness the way I want to. "I'm exhausted of being attacked and belittled more than other comedians who have said worse".

On Wednesday, Barr also told former fellow cast member Michael Fishman, who played DJ Conner on the show: "You throw me under the bus. nice!"

Trump's tweet about the Roseanne racism scandal the most Trump tweet yet
In the flurry of tweets Thursday, she apologized to her " Roseanne " co-star, Jayden Rey . A leader needs to be criticised and scrutinized in order to be kept in check.

Her Twitter account had a manic feel throughout the morning. Trump had called her to congratulate her on the success of the rebooted show.

Another of Barr's co-stars, Emma Kenney, revealed she was ready to quit the show in protest at the comments.

Another retweet, still up as of 7 a.m. ET, quoted Herman Cain on Fox saying "I believe they were looking for a reason to cancel #Roseanne and here's why". The closest analogy is CBS pulling the plug on the Smothers Brothers variety show due to their anti-war views in the late 1960s and the same network not renewing "Lou Grant" at its peak, which star Ed Asner always contended was due to his outspoken political beliefs.

His social media love for Barr dates back to December 2013, when he responded to a tweet hoping that Barr would join Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" cast.

She later tweeted an apology to Jarrett. "The comment Roseanne tweeted was racist and childish and beneath her best self", wrote Barr's friend Rosie O'Donnell in a tweet. Pre-production was already underway on a second season, which was scheduled for Tuesdays at 8 p.m. this fall. "Effective immediately, Roseanne Barr is no longer a client".

- What will Barr do next?

- Will there be any measurable backlash from her fans?
