Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all battling for Cillessen's signature, according to Diario Gol, who are renowned for their outlandish transfer stories.

Cillessen, 29, has has to play second-fiddle to Barcelona's first-choice goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen for most of last season, with the Dutch goalkeeper having to make nine of his 11 appearances last season in the successful Copa del Rey run.

While Liverpool have previously been linked with a move for the former Ajax man after losing patience with both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius over the course of the season.

However, Chelsea are also keen on the Dutch global as they line-up potential replacements for Thibaut Courtois amid speculation he's heading back to Spain having failed to sign a new contract.

He appears to be looking for a move away from the Nou Camp in search of regular football.

Liverpool seemed to be pondering over the prospect of meeting Cillessen's release clause at Barcelona, which reportedly stands at €60 million.

The North London club are in the market for a long-term successor to goalkeeper, Petr Cech, who turned 36 last month. Rico started out during Unai Emery's tenure at Sevilla as the number two goalkeeper, but took over starting duties in 2014-15.

Cillessen's club are willing to listen to offers but will not sell him for lower than his £52million release clause. And with Barcelona ready to offload Cillessen at €30 million, the Dutchman is more than likely to be involved in a transfer in the summer.
