Neymar stopped training in Sochi after a few minutes, leaving his team mates to continue preparations for their second World Cup game against Costa Rica in St Petersburg on Friday.

"Neymar left the training session with some pain in his right ankle because of the number of fouls he suffered in the game against Switzerland, " federation spokesman Vinicius Rodrigues said.

On Sunday, Brazil drew 1-1 with Switzerland, with Neymar playing the whole match for the first time having been sidelined for nearly three months with a foot injury, which required surgery.

Brazil's Neymar, right, leaves a training session because of pain in his right ankle. He limped as he walked away from the field toward the dressing room, accompanied by a team doctor.
