Federal Bureau of Investigation report: Anti-Trump texts 'cast a cloud' over email probe

Comey broke FBI procedure in Clinton email probe says inspector general

Almost 24 hours after the release of the Department of Justice inspector general's investigation, President Trump tweeted his reaction, calling the blistering report a "total disaster" for former FBI Director James Comey and his "minions".

Trumps supporters have argued that the findings are proof of political bias at the FBIs highest levels that then tainted the Russian Federation investigation, first led by the FBI and now by special counsel Robert Mueller.

"When you read the report, it's nearly like Comey, he goes point after point about how guilty Hillary is, and then he said, 'But we're not going to do anything about it.' The IG report was a horror show, I thought that one line of conclusion was ridiculous", Trump said.

This is a play on a response that one often heard during the course of the 2016 campaign whenever an argument made about why Donald Trump should not be President. Page was less well-known and has left the agency since the text messages were revealed. It also calls him "insubordinate" for not alerting then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch to his plans to say publicly that Clinton would not be charged in the case.

In December 2017, it was revealed that at least five of the emails stored on Weiner's laptop were marked "confidential" and involved delicate talks with Middle Eastern leaders and Abedin.

President Donald Trump and his critics are cherry-picking its findings to either discredit or defend investigators conducting a probe into the White House. Trump and his supporters have repeatedly claimed Clinton should have faced further consequences.

Comey has said he was concerned that the Justice Department itself could not credibly announce the conclusion of its investigation, in part because Lynch had met days earlier aboard her plane with former President Bill Clinton. Strzok's text was in response to a text from an Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyer, Lisa Page.

Argentina vs Iceland: Messi speaks on missing penalty, Croatia game
Iceland was indebted to Halldorsson for picking up a point, though, as he kept out Messi's spot-kick shortly after the hour mark. Despite Argentina failing to convince in Moscow, Hallgrimsson still believes they have the talent to go deep in this World Cup .

The report by Inspector General Michael Horowitz says that the FBI's decision not to prosecute Clinton in the case was "consistent with the department's historical approach in prior cases under different leadership", the source said.

Strzok replied: "you and I both know the odds are nothing".

Trump added: "It was a pretty good report and then I say that the IG blew it at the very end with that statement". "No he won't. We'll stop it".

He also tweeted wishing peace and prosperity in the coming year.

Trump's legal team has repeatedly cast doubt on whether the president would sit for an interview with Mueller. Rudy Giuliani, the president's attorney, has suggested that a presidential interview with Mueller may not happen in the aftermath of the IG report, which he contends shows the investigation has been tainted and biased against the president. Page only briefly worked on Mueller's team and left before the texts were discovered.

The IG report cited repeated examples of intense partisan political bias among key FBI executives on the email investigation but concluded that "We did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that improper considerations, including political bias, directly affected the specific investigative decisions". "There was no collusion, there was no obstruction, and the IG report yesterday went a long way to show that".

More importantly than anything, it totally exonerates me.
