It was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. With Burt Reynolds, Dakota Fanning, Luke Perry, Timothy Olyphant, James Marsden and more, the film is set to be in theaters on August 19, 2019 - coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Tate's murder.

The first look image unites both DiCaprio and Pitt with Tarantino, who has directed them in Django Unchained and Inglourious Basterds respectively.

The actor posted a picture Wednesday on Instagram with his co-star Brad Pitt. Tarantino regulars Kurt Russell, Tim Roth and Michael Madsen will also be making appearance in small/cameo-style roles.

'Abolish ICE' Socialist Newcomer Stuns Top Democrat with Primary Upset
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 28, a Boston University alumna, knocked off Joe Crowley, the No. 4 House Democrat, in Tuesday's primary. Ms Ocasio-Cortez is now one of 130 women who have won primary elections for US House seats, 80 percent of who are Democrats.

DiCaprio and Pitt are just the beginning of the movie's stacked cast. The addition of DiCaprio and Pitt's characters make it seem like it will be more taking place around the murders and investigating the impact it had on Hollywood rather than putting murder to screen.

In April, Tarantino revealed to audiences at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that the film will be set in Hollywood in 1969, around the Manson family murders. As they navigate a new era in Hollywood, little do they know that their neighbour is none other than Sharon Tate, the future victim of a murderous rampage by members of Charles Manson's cult. He had been serving a life sentence for ordering the murders of nine people including actress Sharon Tate.

Production for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is now underway in Los Angeles for Sony Pictures and the film is slated for release on August 9, 2019. The flick centers around a western TV actor named Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) and his close friend and stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt). The movie follows the two struggling to exist in the "new" Hollywood.
