A shooting has happened in Malmo, Sweden.

One person was killed and five wounded in a shooting in the centre of the southern Swedish city of Malmo on Monday, police said, ruling out a terrorist link.

The agency quoted unnamed police as saying four people were shot. Investigators suggest that automatic weapons were used, and are searching for a dark vehicle that was seen leaving the scene at high speed, Aftonbladet reports.

Reports suggest a man opened fire as fans celebrated their victory over South Korea in the World Cup.

Witness Jonatan Burhoff told the newspaper he saw wounded people being carried to private cars that drove off 'as fast as possible'.

Witnesses reported hearing around 12 to 15 shots fired in Drottninggatan, near Malmö. Reports said they were searching for a dark-coloured vehicle.

The injured were taken to hospital following the attack and their condition remains unknown. Swedish police are now on the scene.
