Giuliani Renews Push To Investigate The Investigators In Russia Probe

Washington Post reporter Josh Dawsey confirmed Giuliani's comments on Friday night, and reported that Giuliani said he advised Trump against issuing pardons right now.

Rudy Giuliani said Sunday that President Donald Trump will not issue pardons on behalf of his associates in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe, noting that Trump could always hand out pardons after the investigation ends instead.

Trump hasn't made a decision yet, and his legal team will spend the weekend doing research and reading through a Justice Department inspector general's report to determine whether they can make a case that Mueller's investigation is invalid because of findings of bias at the FBI, Giuliani said.

Manafort was sent to jail last week after a federal judge revoked his house arrest over allegations of witness tampering in the Russian Federation investigation.

"I believe that Rod Rosenstein and Jeff Sessions have a chance to redeem themselves and that chance comes about tomorrow and doesn't go beyond tomorrow", he said. The ruling came after Robert Mueller's investigators alleged Manafort had attempted to tamper with witnesses in the Russian Federation investigation.

"When it's over, he's still the president of the United States".

Giuliani spoke on CNN's "State of the Union" and CBS" "Face the Nation, ' and Bannon appeared on ABC's 'This Week.' Collins was on CBS.

NY sues to dissolve Trump Foundation
The lawsuit seeks $2.8 million in restitution, additional unspecified penalties and the foundation's dissolution. The attorney general wants the foundation to give its remaining $ 1 million in assets to other charities.

"Let me make it clear, right now, anybody listening", Giuliani told CNN's Chris Cuomo, "He is not going to pardon anybody in this investigation".

"I don't understand the justification for putting him in jail", Giuliani, 74, said.

"I couldn't possibly justify troubling the president when he was working on peace with North Korea", Giuliani said, accusing the Mueller team of being "responsible for three months of delays". "I think if I could get those pictures of them crying ..."

"I believe that the Mueller investigation should be investigated not because necessarily of Mueller but because of its genesis in this very, very now completely nearly illegal and unethical probe, this Russian probe", he said.

Referring to the Russian Federation investigation, Giuliani said "when it's over", Trump would retain his pardon power and could issue pardons as he sees fit.

Democrats said the inspector general's report provided no grounds to undermine Mueller's continuing investigation. There won't be clemency in the ongoing Mueller investigation because it would muddy things up, but "when its over", it's POTUS' ability to do. Mueller is also investigating questions of whether Trump improperly sought to obstruct the probe, such as by firing James Comey as Federal Bureau of Investigation director, and if Trump refuses an interview, Mueller could resort to a subpoena to compel testimony.
