Locklear appeared extremely intoxicated when deputies arrived at her Southern California home at about 11 p.m. Sunday to investigate a dispute between Locklear and either family members or friends, Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Garo Kuredjian said.

And the 58-year-old Melrose Place actor has spoken to Entertainment Tonight to sympathize with his 56-year-old ex-fiancee after her recent legal and mental health woes.

Actress Heather Locklear was hospitalised just hours after she was released from jail following her attack on a police officer and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He did not identify the patient but said the patient was transported to Las Robles Hospital & Medical Center.

Locklear was previously hospitalized last week after another 911 call was placed for someone who was suicidal and violent. Below, a timeline of everything we know so far.

According to TMZ, Locklear was planning on checking herself into rehab... but now it seems the switch to getting treatment wasn't so voluntary.

Prior to her arrest late Sunday night, a family member reportedly called authorities to report she had been drinking and was acting irrational.

Earlier that day, Inside Edition found the actress covering her face with a hoodie while leaving jail with her attorney after posting her $20,000 bail for allegedly kicking a cop and a paramedic.

Locklear was arrested for misdemeanor battery against a police officer and an emergency personnel, TMZ reported.

Sunday's arrest comes exactly a week after Locklear was cuffed and taken to hospital after choking her mother Diane, 85, and threatening to shoot herself.

She was also charged with three counts of misdemeanour battery on a police officer. Upon arrival, Locklear reportedly punched a police officer and kicked an EMT attempting to strap her to a gurney. In 2008, she was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of prescription drugs.
