Liverpool wanted Ings to stay at the club and offered him a new long-term deal but the 25-year-old has chose to leave in order to play regular football after an injury-blighted spell on Merseyside.

The 25 year old still has two years remaining on his contract but after overcoming long injury spells failed to force his way into the first team squad at Anfield.

They were looking at the striker when he left Burnley on a free transfer in 2015, and have been said to have monitored his situation at various points since then too.

However, it seems Spurs are set to miss out as the Independent claims that Liverpool are expected to confirm Shaqiri's arrival at Anfield after he's finished representing Switzerland at the World Cup. Burnley have continued their improvement in the three seasons he has been away, and will be competing in the Europa League qualifiers this summer.

Ireland vs India 1st T20I: Rohit, Dhawan take India past 50
The Irish have a history of upsetting the applecart of higher-rated teams , and India should be wary of the threat. Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and MS Dhoni were rested for the T20 tri-series in Sri Lanka in March.

Shaqiri netted eight goals in 36 games in the Premier League last term but the Potters forward couldn't prevent Stoke from suffering relegation to England's second tier.

According to a report from the Daily Star, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur have lodged enquiries in recent months to gauge their chances of signing Danny Ings from Liverpool.

These serious setback have restricted him to 14 Premier League appearances over the past three seasons. He suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the first training session under new manager Jurgen Klopp in October 2015.
