Earlier in the day, the Karnataka High Court directed the state government to ensure the peaceful release of the film.

Rajinikanth's recent remarks on Cauvery river water sharing created a controversy.

The appeal comes close on the heels of Tuesday's Karnataka High Court order that left room for theatres to screen the movie if they wanted.

The court asked for a list of screens where the film is being released so that security can be arranged. The petition was heard today and the Supreme Court has refused to stay the film's release. "It is not right to prevent the release of the film in Karnataka just because I said something on Cauvery".

Apple Wants To Help You And Your Kids Put The iPhone Down
Many were quick to roll their eyes at Apple's new Animoji and Memoji-the company's apparent take on the popular Bitmoji . The paradox emerged Monday as Apple executives previewed new versions of free software due out this fall.

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce submitted to the court that they have nothing to do with any ban on the film. "However, the concerned distributors should provide complete details about theatres and multiplexes where the film would be released", said City Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar. The film is scheduled to release internationally on June 7. Dhanush's council has stated that only after this the distributor and the theaters will be decided and that the producers will also seek the government support.

"As a government we will take all necessary measures, but if some organisations protest and because of this people don't turn up, under such circumstances, and when they don't allow our movies to be released, I feel they should not release the movie", Kumaraswamy said.

Unhappy with Rajinikanth's remarks last month that whichever government came to power in Karnataka should fully implement the Supreme Court's order on Cauvery water sharing, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has made a decision to not allow the release of "Kaala".
