Mexicans celebrating their win over Germany

Thousands of exuberant Mexican soccer fans took to the streets Sunday to cheer their national team's long-shot win against Germany in Mexico's first match of the 2018 World Cup soccer tournament. Both literally and figuratively.

World soccer's governing body Federation Internationale de Football Association has opened a disciplinary procedure against Mexico after alleged homophobic chants by Mexican fans during their World Cup win over Germany on Sunday. Mexico's World Cup started against defending champion Germany on Sunday, but the result was better than even the most optimistic Mexico fan could have imagined.

"The #sismo detected in Mexico City originated artificially".

He outpaced Jerome Boateng and with a less than ideal pass found Lozano, who controlled the ball, cut inside Mesut Ozil, held off a charging Toni Kroos and slotted past Manuel Neuer.

The PSV winger scored his eighth global goal and was in no doubt about the importance of his impact against Germany. The group's Twitter account explained that this shaking was caused "possibly by massive jumps" during the goal. "We played without fear and my team-mates were incredible".

Low went on to blame a poor first-half performance.

Lozano punished a strangely languid Germany side after numerous warnings on the counter - as Joshua Kimmich and Marvin Plattenhardt raided forward constantly - sending the stadium into raptures, with a brilliant solo goal.

"In the second half we pressed more but Mexico also dropped back", he added.

"He told us to keep playing like we were playing".

"We will certainly not change our match plan", Low said.
