People Are Already Wreaking Havoc With Elon’s Flamethrowers — Musk Madness

Musk had earlier sold 50,000 hats to help raise money for the project.

As of Monday morning there were a number of ads on eBay with "buy it now" prices listed as high as $20,000.

Musk suggested selling flamethrowers for $500 each as a method of raising funds for the new business venture.

The billionaire posted a warning to Twitter Saturday: "Please use as directed to avoid unintentionally burning things down".

In an unsurprising, yet unfortunate turn of events, Musk was blocked from shipping the Boring Company Flamethrower in February when customs agencies point blank refused to deliver a device with such a volatile name.

The devices - priced at $500 - generated $10 million in sales for the company during its pre-sales earlier this year.

The fire-breathing device comes packaged with a rhyming set of terms and conditions that nods to the classic Dr. Seuss book "Green Eggs and Ham".

That's actually too bad because it's an unbelievable name. "I work at IHOP ", tweeted an employee last week . The former leader in much needed hangover food has made a decision to enter into the burger joint business.

The clever idea behind these flamethrower pick up parties originally stemmed from the fact that shipping these devices proved to be quite hard given the fact that they contained propane.

"When the zombie apocalypse happens, you'll be glad you bought a flamethrower", he tweeted.

Musk named the item "Not a Flamethrower". If TBC actually does plan to offer an ice blaster and expects it to be usefulwhen the "winter dry season" begins, the news should come soon.

The Boring Company has proposed to build a tunnel through West Los Angeles, passing underneath Sepulveda Boulevard through Culver City.

This is not the first time he has referenced a ice-gun when addressing the tunnelling startup's future products on social media.

As shown in Musk's tweeted pictures, hundreds lined up at the pickup site in Los Angeles to get their purchases and pose for pictures as flames licked out from the flamethrowers' barrels.

It's unclear how much a round-trip would cost, but the Boring Company said it will be "comparable to or lower than current public transportation fares".
