Prince William lays flowers during emotional visit to his great-grandmother's tomb

While it is already somewhat of a task to keep track of all of the official titles in the British royal family-the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex, to name a few-many members of the monarchy will have their titles altered once the heir apparent, Prince Charles, becomes King.

The Duke of Cambridge closes out his trip to the Middle East with a visit to Jerusalem's Old City Thursday. He then visited the nearby gravesite of his great-grandmother, Princess Alice, who saved Jews in the Holocaust and whose last wishes were to have her remains buried in the Church of St. Mary Magdalene above the Garden of Gethsemane.

In the document, the British government expressed its support for "a national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine.

On Thursday, the prince is to complete his stay by visiting historical and religious sites in east Jerusalem. He was then given several gifts by the clergy, including a bouquet of flowers and a cross.

His visit to Islam's third holiest site was followed by visits to the city's Jewish and Christian holy places.

Wearing a skullcap and following a Jewish tradition of offering a written prayer at the wall, he placed a note between its stones, rested the palm of one hand against them and leaned forward in silent reflection. He later signed the guestbook: "May the God of peace bless this region and all the world with peace".

Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, who joined the duke at the holy site, said: "Today we experienced a moment of history which will live long in the memory of Jews around the world".

They have shown a willingness to take on salaries in return for assets in the past, in deals such as that for DeMarre Carroll . The point guard went on to say that his former teammate was "incredible" and checked off every mark statistically this year.

Israeli politicians were angered that the royal itinerary mentioned the Old City of Jerusalem as being part of "the Occupied Palestinian Territories", rather than part of Israel's capital.

At the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, on the site where Christians believe Jesus was crucified, clergy from the main Christian denominations greeted him with a traditional ceremony. His fellow hard-line Cabinet minister from the ruling Likud Party, Miri Regev, said it was "impolite" of the prince not to meet Jerusalem's mayor in the city.

The Western Wall, the last remaining remnant of a retaining wall that surrounded a Biblical temple, and the Noble Sanctuary are in the walled Old City of Jerusalem, an area captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed in a move that has not won worldwide recognition.

They are on a site revered by Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and by Jews as the Temple Mount, where Biblical temples once stood.

While celebrating Israel's achievements and cooperation between the countries in economy, science and security, the prince voiced on numerous occasions during his visit Britain's commitment to creating a peaceful future in the Middle East. But it has since taken a back seat to the United States in matters of mediating war and peace efforts. It is the first official visit to the area by a member of the royal family.

He visited some of the country's more solemn sites including Yad Vashem and saw some of its most upbeat and light sides, such as the Tel Aviv beachfront and a meeting with Eurovision victor Netta Barzilai at the city's Rothschild Boulevard.

Britain's Prince William found himself on diplomatic thin ice during a visit to the Israeli-occupied West Bank on Wednesday when he called the Palestinian territories a "country".
