Cruz won his one-on-one game against Kimmel at Texas Southern University in Houston, meaning Kimmel was on the hook to donate $5,000 to the charity of Cruz's choice. Cruz responded by challenging Kimmel to a basketball game. Kimmel and Cruz faced off in a one-on-one game with donations going to Houston charities. The game will be incorporated into Kimmel's show Monday night. They were supposed to play to 15 but agreed to shorten the game.

Here are some of the highlights from the lead up to the game, which will take place Saturday at 2:30 p.m.in Houston at the Health and Physical Education Arena on the Texas State campus, according to ABC13.

Cruz, who famously called a basketball hoop a "ring" in an ill-fated Hoosiers reference in IN during a failed presidential bid, first challenged Kimmel to the game during the NBA playoffs.

Griezmann And Australia Manager Had Different Reactions To VAR Controversy
Australia's centre-back Joshua Risdon slid to make contact with the ball, attempting to divert it from the path of Griezmann. We didn't have the luck today", said Australia captain Mile Jedinak , who scored his team's equalizer.

Cruz told reporters he would go as far as to "pull [Kimmel's] shorts to the ground" to prevent Kimmel from dunking a basket. And in case you were wondering, there was no shortage of smack talk.

If a video Cruz released earlier this week set to the song "Chariots of Fire" is any indication of his play, however, it looks to be an ugly game. On the video, he thanked Allen for agreeing to stand in for him against Kimmel.

Allen became involved because many believe he resembles Cruz. Because this is a guy who, during the election, Donald Trump insinuated that his wife was ugly and his dad helped kill JFK.
