‘The Office’ actor Hugh Dane dies at 75

Hugh Dane, who played no-nonsense security guard Hank on The Office, has died.

At this time, Dane's cause of death remains private.

Dane is reported to have died May 16, with a notice posted on Los Angeles' Inner City Cultural Center Facebook page.

It stated his funeral will take place on Saturday at the Vision Theatre in Los Angeles and asked friends and fans to join them to "share memories and remember a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend". He went on to guest on a slew of popular TV shows during the "90s including Friends, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Hangin" with Mr. Cooper, Boy Meets World and Martin, along with a recurring role on Fox's Charles S. Dutton comedy Roc.

Despite having no major leading roles, Hugh Dane is still a well known actor. He was one of the greats. Hank's scenes were some of the low-key funniest ones to grace The Office, often coming at odds with Rainn Wilson's Dwight Schrute, although the role arguably peaked in the fifth season episode Crime Aid, with a stirring performance of Me & The Blues. So kind, funny, talented. We will all miss him, ' tweeted Wilson. Furthermore, he had a fair number of movies under his belt, including Bridesmaids, Little Fockers, and Joy Ride. Wilson also noted that donations can be made in Dane's name to the Inner City Cultural Center. Rainn Wilson even encouraged people donate as well in his tweet, adding onto the actor's final wish.
