Trump Weighed In On #Jacketgate And Naturally Made It Worse

The jacket is a Zara military style piece.

The trip was meant to lend support to those children who remain separated from their parents, said Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's spokeswoman.

"It's a jacket. There was no hidden message". I'm gonna repeat that in all caps, because, yes, I'm yelling: SHE WAS ON HER WAY TO VISIT IMMIGRANT CHILDREN AT THE TEXAS BORDER!

It seemed a contradictory message for Trump's mission to Texas where she hoped to demonstrate how much she cares about the migrant children separated from their parents and housed in shelters there.

In fact, the first lady's sartorial choices have been fodder for several episodes of Twitter mocking, including the $51,000 Dolce & Gabbana jacket she wore in Italy previous year. She said she wanted to learn more about how these children can be reunited with their parents "as quickly as possible".

As images of Mrs Trump surfaced online, social media was swamped with users in disbelief over her choice of jacket.

Melania Trump's surprise visit to a Texas facility housing migrant children sent there by the US government drew more attention for her wardrobe than her actual visit.

Starbucks closing 150 underperforming stores in 2019
Most of the new locations it opens will be in underserved markets. "That becomes an area of concern for Starbucks". The affected stores are located in mostly urban areas that are densely populated with Starbucks locations.

Her tour of the federally funded facility in McAllen, Texas, housing dozens of Central American children came as her husband's administration sought to quell the firestorm over migrant separations.

The first lady sat alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar at a table at Upbring New Hope Children's Center and heard caregivers explain how the children are well treated.

Visiting another classroom, Trump asked children where they were from and how long they'd been at the centre where staff said children typically spend between 42 and 45 days. She was told the children there, most of whom are between the ages of 12 and 17, are usually "distraught" when they first enter. He says staff have "a tremendous passion for working with these children" and the center is "their home".

- Trump was heading to Texas to visit shelters for migrant children separated from their parenets. Trump had come under pressure to stop the practice, including from GOP allies and the first lady herself, following a public outcry sparked by widespread images of children held in fence-like structures.

Mr Trump said he was inviting Congress' top two Democrats, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, to the White House for immigration bargaining.

The first lady said earlier through her spokeswoman that she "hates" to see families separated at the border.

Many Twitter users were quick to call out Mrs. Trump's jacket as tone deaf, with some suggested that she may even be "trolling" her husband.
