US, Canada and Mexico to host 2026 World Cup

The 2026 World Cup will be the first expanded tournament featuring 48 teams, up from the current 32-team competition.

How will the games be split up?

The World Cup will expand to 48 teams and 80 games for 2026 and the USA will stage 60 of those matches. That isn't set in stone, however. The U.S. government's ongoing investigation into corruption in global soccer rattled FIFA's old guard in its halls of power.

Three Canadian cities - Edmonton, Montreal, and Toronto - could potentially host matches. The US team is not among the participants.

Trump has also backed the tri-nation bid and his administration has given guarantees about trade, tax and other requirements demanded by Federation Internationale de Football Association.

Meanwhile, Ghana's absence comes as a blow to Morocco who had won the support of Ghana over joint bidders United States, Mexico and Canada.

Tesla to lay off 9% of workers as part of restructuring plan
In a statement to the NLRB past year , it said: "At Tesla , we strive to be a fair and just company, the only kind worth being". Tesla will provide significant salary and vesting stock to employees being dismissed, Musk wrote in his memo.

The ceremony will see a fusion of different genres as Robbie Williams will perform some of his greatest musical hits which will then be carried on with some classical music from the world of Opera as fans from all over the world get an opportunity to celebrate the glory of the World Cup. "We are very excited and humbled that the FIFA member associations have entrusted the Concacaf region with the honour of hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup in its new extended format", CONCACAF said in a statement. FIFA said in May 2017 that the question will be answered by the FIFA Council at a later date, and no decision was made on Wednesday. "From Luzhniki Stadium football will conquer the world", Infantino said.

Among the 22 other host city finalists are Washington and New York/New Jersey, both of which hosted matches in the 1994 World Cup, the last held in North America. Whether FIFA also extends this courtesy to Mexico and Canada - the latter a relative nonentity in worldwide soccer that has qualified for just one World Cup in 1986 - remains to be seen. But who do you think will triumph at the tournament?

"The possibility of hosting the World Cup in Canada would be an absolute game-changing event for the sport in this country", deVos told Sportsnet this week. Citing a number of high-profile sponsors dropping FIFA, London newspaper The Independent reported that FIFA's 2018 World Cup sponsorship revenues were down $240 million.

With 48 teams, there will be 16 groups of three teams. Luis Rubiales was not present at the FIFA Congress in Moscow, the RFEF president instead in Krasnodar to deliver the news that Julen Lopetegui had been sacked as coach just two days before their opening game with Portugal. Again, nothing has been determined.
