Confirming details of the US deal, ZTE said late on Tuesday it would replace its board of directors and that of its import-export subsidiary ZTE Kangxun within 30 days of the June 8 order being signed by the United States.

U.S. President Donald Trump's Republican allies in Congress are moving to block his deal to put Chinese telecom giant ZTE back in business if it pays $1 billion more in fines for violating U.S. sanctions against Iran.

The current Senate bill "would trample on the separation of powers and undercut the Trump administration's authority to impose these penalties", Perdue said. It also required ZTE to change its board of directors and executive team within 30 days. Google vows it won't use AI for weapons MORE (Md.) objected to Perdue's request, paving the way for the provision blocking Trump's ZTE deal to remain in the defense bill. Little of that happened, however, and the Commerce Department enacted a seven-year suspended ban against ZTE in retaliation.

The Chinese company has been accused of violating USA sanctions by selling sensitive equipment to both North Korea and Iran.

The deal implemented a $1 billion penalty against ZTE and required the addition of a US -chosen compliance team to monitor the company. After 10 years, if there are no violations, the $400 million will be returned to ZTE.

Arsenal agree £26.4m deal to sign Sampdoria’s Lucas Torreira
He has one Uruguay cap and was included in Óscar Tabárez's World Cup squad for the tournament in Russian Federation this summer. Leno, 26, is seen as a long-term replacement for Petr Cech at Arsenal, while Torreira is the Gunners' top midfield target.

But a number of U.S. lawmakers aren't satisfied with that agreement, saying the issue extends beyond punishment and is more about national security.

We've come to expect the unexpected from Trump, but would he veto a defense bill just to save his ZTE deal?

As part of the order, ZTE must identify in detail to the Commerce Department all Chinese government ownership and control of ZTE, including public and private shares.

A separate monitor was appointed to a three-year term by a USA federal court in Texas last year.

Democratic and Republican lawmakers have said they believe ZTE's sales to Iran represent particularly "dangerous" breaches of USA national security. Under the deal, ZTE also agreed to allow the USA government easier access to verify the company's shipments for items subject to the regulations. ZTE is not allowed to take any action or make any public statement, even indirectly, denying any of the allegations.
