WWDC 2018 will happen on the June 4th at the San Jose Convention Center and starts at 1PM ET / 10AM PT. Some new hardware might also be in the cards as well, but we'll have to wait until Tim Cook takes the stage to find out. The event tends to be the second biggest Apple get-together of the year, behind its September iPhone launch event. The company will be live streaming the event on its website and Apple TV. Much like Google I/O, this conference will showcase what Apple has planned for its software products over the course of the next 12 months, so we can expect to hear about plenty of updates to iOS 11, MacOS, and what's coming for iOS 12.

We're also expecting to hear about updates to the NFC functionality in iPhones equipped with the necessary chips, which will allow you to unlock smart locks, hotel rooms, and cars with your mobile device.

According to Bloomberg, iOS 12 will focus on digital well-being and improving your relationship with tech. However, it is rumored that Apple will release a new "Digital Health" initiative which could include tools that can help iOS users learn how much time they spend on their devices.

■ The company also plans to preview iOS 12, the new version of the iPhone and iPad operating system, including bug fixes and other improvements. There might be a chance of hardware announcements too. The hope is that the new model could address some of the keyboard issues that people have been experiencing with the current model's "Butterfly" switches.

US weighs more South China Sea patrols
He Lei said China has indisputable sovereignty over its islands in the South China Sea and the adjacent waters. Mr Mattis also touched on Taiwan, a longstanding dispute between the U.S. and China.

There are rumours going around that Apple will reveal a portable speaker that works with Siri, but we couldn't confirm that.

The outperformance can be attributed to the strong performance of iPhone along with gradual expansion of the company's services business that include revenues from Internet Services, App store, Apple Music, AppleCare, Apple Pay, and licensing and other services.

But the iPhone SE 2 is also rumoured to feature glass backing for wireless charging and an iPhone X style notched display. While a notebook launch seems unlikely, Apple is expected to refresh its iPad Pro lineup as its regular iPads saw an upgrade earlier this year.
