Ohio State 100 Former Students Report Sexual Misconduct by Team Doctor

More than 100 former student athletes have reported "firsthand accounts of sexual misconduct" committed by Ohio State University physician Richard Strauss almost two decades ago, the school announced on Friday.

The university announced the independent investigation months ago and has said the allegations against Strauss now involve male athletes from 14 sports, as well as Strauss' work at the student health center and his off-campus medical office. That Ohio State's investigation has already discovered more than 100 alleged victims reinforces that expectation. Strauss, who died of suicide in 2005, was the team doctor from 1978 to 1995.

One of the wrestlers, Shawn Dailey, said he was groped half a dozen times by Dr. Richard Strauss in the mid-1990s, when Jordan was the assistant wrestling coach.

Jordan has said he will assist in the investigation by Ohio State in any way possible.

Former Ohio State University student Steve Snyder-Hill discusses a complaint he submitted decades ago about the behavior of Dr. Richard Strauss, during an interview at home in Columbus on Tuesday.

"We remain steadfastly committed to uncovering the truth", he added.

Jordan went even further, though, repeatedly labeling as liars the former wrestlers - reports say up to 11 at recent count, many of whom acknowledged having been personally sexually assaulted - who say he had to have known.

The head coach back then, Russ Hellickson, similarly has said he would have reported any abuse if he had been aware of it.

GODDAMMIT! I thought the bitch was white! "Someone needs to help her", said Sunny Hostin on " The View " Friday. When you hurt people even unwillingly there's no excuse.

"The way it seemed to me, it was sequenced and choreographed, and the left, and everything they've done, I guess you'd have to look at that", Jordan said Thursday on Fox News' "America's Newsroom."

Other former team members have said they believe Jordan's statements that he knew nothing.

Enrico Sartori, now a neurologist in Puerto Rico, was a tennis player at Ohio State in the early late 1980s and early 1990s. Most of those institutions say they have little record of Strauss, and none has said any concerns were raised about him. "Being a doctor now, I have a better understanding". The unnamed plaintiff says he was abused by Strauss at least 20 times. He said he began to feel so uncomfortable that he became nauseous.

"I felt very, very secure that that guy isn't going to do this again", Snyder-Hill said.

"I knew of no abuse".

He said teammates joked about Strauss's exams, and it was seen as a kind of a "hazing" ritual for first-year students.

Mr. Ryan has said he was waiting for the results of the OSU investigation before weighing in on the issue. "Today, I'd have a different opinion of it".

On Monday, two former U.S. divers opened legal proceedings against USA Diving, accusing the body of ignoring their complaints that a coach forced them into sex when they were young athletes. He recalls standing in a line of teammates joking about Strauss during annual physicals at the beginning of the season.
