Report: Liverpool Make €180m Bid For Real Star Asensio

Real's new head coach Julen Lopetegui has not yet had the chance to discuss Asensio's Madrid future with him and will likely do so when the player returns from Russian Federation.

The Brazilian could cost as much as £264m and therefore the sale of Asensio would be necessary to help balance the books, with Liverpool reportedly prepared to pay £176m for the Spain worldwide.

Real Madrid starlet Marco Asensio has refused to dismiss a potential move to Liverpool this summer.

Should Liverpool sign Asensio, he would become the Reds' third summer signing, following Fabinho and Naby Keita to Anfield.

Remember when the French attacker was on the verge of moving to Liverpool? However, someone that may be ready to pick it back up could well be United boss Mourinho, who is looking to strengthen his side in the coming weeks.

Brazil defender Thiago Silva rubbished suggestions he had a problem with superstar team-mate Neymar . And it's a dream to play in the World Cup. "I am the happiest man in the world".

Despite a constant drip of reports that the deal may still happen that is not from Liverpool's end; the club are maintaining they've moved on.

A number of clubs from the continent are also interested in the former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan wide-man, but he has admitted he would prefer to stay in the Premier League. And while the offer is a long way off from Asensio's €700 million release clause, Real Madrid could just be open to negotiating with the Reds around their bid amount, and for good reason.

In the main, he's been used as a substitute for Real Madrid, with three of Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema lining up as an attacking trident.

Sport says Real president Florentino Perez is prepared to sell Asensio to Liverpool so they can fund a deal for PSG star Neymar.

"Liverpool's interest has come out but it is gone and I'm focused on the World Cup", he told reporters (via Marca).
