Eight-seeded Ryan Harrison will face Isner in the final after holding off England's Cameron Norrie by a margin of 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 in a semifinal that lasted one hour, 44 minutes.

The match shaped up to be a service battle as both players needed just a break each to split the first two sets.

"I benefited from my opponent not being 100 percent", Isner said.

Harrison had seemed on track to claim his second ATP World Tour title in the opening set, but could not keep up the momentum in the second and failed to convert four break-point opportunities.

John Isner joined elite company when he saved four of five break points en route to beating compatriot Ryan Harrison 5-7 6-3 6-4 to win the Atlanta Open for the fifth time on Sunday.

"I have played really, really well all week".

After going 0-3 against Zverev in 2017, Isner won their first matchup of 2018 to even their career head-to-head series at three matches apiece.

They also met previous year in the Hall of Fame Open final, with Isner winning in straight sets.

Isner beat Harrison in the final past year.

Ebden is 1-3 against Isner but won their past meeting in January at the Australian Open.

"To his credit, he (Ebden) played much better than me that day in Australia".

Norrie addressed Kyrgios's injury in a post-game interview.

"I've been on the other end where you have four or five chances to put your stamp on the match and you don't get it. [We'll] see if I can turn the tide".

Top seed Dominic Thiem's bid for a third claycourt title of the season came to a halt after he suffered a shock 7-6 (5), 7-6 (7) defeat by Chilean power-hitter Nicolas Jarry. "We are good friends and it'll be a rematch of a year ago, so it'll be cool".
