A multi-instrumentalist, producer and filmmaker, Swift joined the Black Keys in 2014 and performed with The Shins from 2011 to 2016.

Swift, who also was a short-film maker, had his music featured in films including 2013's Drinking Buddies and such TV shows as HBO's Eastbound & Down and Tim and Eric's Bedtime Stories on Adult Swim.

Producer and singer-songwriter Richard Swift, a member of The Black Keys, has died, his bandmate Dan Auerbach confirmed on social media Tuesday. He's now with his Mom and Sister. Frontwoman Chrissie Hynde promoted his fundraising campaign, saying: "I love Swift, he is a dear friend".

Thousands pro-democracy demonstrators march in Hong Kong
A University of Hong Kong survey of 1,000 people put her approval rating at 54.3 points, down from 61.1 points a year ago. Pro-Beijing Hong Kong newspaper Ta Kung Pao called for the march to be outlawed in an editorial last month.

"He was the funniest person we ever met, one of the most talented musicians we have ever worked with and we feel so honored to have known him".

The cause of death has not been announced; in June a GoFundMe effort was launched for him to help cover medical bills for an unspecified "life-threatening condition". He had been diagnosed with a "serious medical condition" according to a fundraising page set up following a recent stay in hospital.

'He is receiving excellent care in Tacoma Washington and everything is being done to allow his body time to fix and heal'. He is uninsured and the cost of the care he is getting is a lot. "Mostly thank you for supporting our beloved Richard and his family".
