Chelsea's Italian head coach Antonio Conte looks on during the English Premier League football match between Watford and Chelsea at Vicarage Road Stadium in Watford, north of London on February 5, 2018.

The Italian had two contrasting campaigns at the helm and has now vacated his post.

Ironically, it was Conte who handed Jorginho, holder of Italian and Brazilian passports, his first global cap for Italy in March 2016.

Reports on Thursday claim Conte is no longer in charge of Chelsea, but the club have yet to officially announce the Italians's exit. They eventually stuttered to a fifth-placed finish in the league, which has led to Conte's departure even though he did clinch the FA Cup title.

Napoli president Aurelio de De Laurentiis has confirmed that Jorginho is heading to Chelsea FC after the Blues offer the club and player a better financial package than Manchester City. Of Conte's staff, fitness coach Paolo Bertelli may stay on while goalkeeping coach Gianluca Spinelli could remain if Thibaut Courtois stays at Chelsea. Last season, Jorginho completed the most passes (2,860 in total) across Europe's top five leagues.

He will cost big money for Chelsea though. Ronaldo's arrival in Turin has presented a problem to the Argentine and his future is definitely up in the air.

Under Sarri's tutelage, Dries Mertens has been transformed into one of the continent's most potent attacking threats, the Belgian scoring a whopping 56 goals in the last two seasons for the free-flowing Partenopei. With just 12 days before Chelsea's first pre-season game and less than a month before the transfer window closes - Sarri will need to get to work quickly and efficiently.

Could any returning loanees feature?

Chelsea have also been in talks to sign midfielder Aleksandr Golovin from CSKA Moscow, defender Daniele Rugani from Juventus and goalkeeper Alisson Becker from Roma.

Having impressed in his cameo appearances for England at the World Cup, Loftus-Cheek will be well aware that his stock is high and negotiating position strong.

Will Ruben Loftus-Cheek feature for Chelsea next season.
