China Rebuffs Trump’s Blame in North Korea Denuclearization Fallout

The leader also instructed them to "introduce various species good to taste and ensure the quality of processed potato foods in production and thus raise the quality of potato production".

Meanwhile, Pompeo was meeting with the comparatively junior General Kim Yong Chol.

Pompeo insisted the talks were making progress but as soon as he left, the North's foreign ministry berated him over his "unilateral and gangster-like" demands and for offering no constructive steps on the USA side.

"If I were President Trump, I would not let China use North Korea to back me off of the trade dispute", Graham told the U.S cable news network program Fox News Sunday after North Korean officials called their talks with Pompeo "regrettable" and accused the USA of making "gangster-like demands" on denuclearization.

"The North Koreans were just messing around, not serious about moving forward", the source told CNN's Michelle Kosinski and the White House felt that the trip went "as badly as it could have gone".

Mr Trump has been pressing member countries to spend more on defence, accusing them of passing the burden on to the US. Afterwards he will spend the weekend in Scotland at his gold club, Trump Turnberry, in Ayrshire.

Pompeo also brought a letter for Kim from the president but didn't get to meet the North Korean dictator.

North Korea may soon allow the U.S.to resume the search for the remains of thousands of American service members killed in the Korean War.

North Korea leader Kim Jung Un has invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit Pyongyang in September for National Day celebrations in a bid to strengthen economic ties.

Kim did not meet with the secretary of State.

A Washington Post editorial was not kind to Trump.

President Donald Trump said he hasn't yet given Kim Jong Un a CD with the song "Rocket Man" he autographed, but still plans to. "He has gotten everything he wanted - sanctions relaxation, worldwide legitimation - without giving up anything in return", columnist Max Boot wrote.
