Then he doubled down again on his accusation that Unsworth is a pedophile, replying to another Twitter user, "Bet ya a signed dollar it's true".

If not, a summary of man and cave follows.

Representatives for Musk didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. He was the one who helped pinpoint exactly where the boys were within the cave complex.

Vern Unsworth - who was on the global team of specialist cave divers at the scene - had told CNN that he thought the mini-submarine the Tesla chief sent to help with the rescue was a useless grab for attention. And while Musk's fans lauded his intentions, his submarine drive-by also became the butt of many jokes.

Elon Musk has labelled British diver Vern Unsworth a "pedo guy" after he criticised his submarine.

They alleged Musk's donation proves he is not an ally of progressive causes, and instead shows he is a closeted conservative.

A British diver involved in rescuing a Thai boy's soccer team from a submerged cave has a low opinion of Tesla CEO Elon Musk's very public offers of help, telling CNN that Musk "can stick his submarine where it hurts".

It's not easy tracking where and when each Android smartphone is released - but it's interesting watching which phone goes where. For storage, the phone is expected to come with 16GB internal memory, with the option to expand to 128GB using a microSD card.

The NYT writer said she was dumbfounded by Mr Musk's tweet and called on the billionaire to apologise. James Anderson, a partner at Baillie Gifford, Tesla's fourth-largest shareholder, said in a recent Bloomberg interview the company needed a period of "peace and execution", adding: "It would be good to just concentrate on the core task". "It just had absolutely no chance of working".

"He had no conception of what the cave passage was like", Unsworth told CNN.

Like other critics, Unsworth noted that the flooded tunnel was extremely narrow and twisted. "The submarine I believe was about 5 feet, 6 inches long, rigid, so it wouldn't have gone round corners or round any obstacles", Unsworth said. Musk said of his giving that "a nominal annual amount goes out automatically to both parties to maintain dialogue".

First, Musk seemed to question whether Unsworth was even there.

Musk, responding to further criticism from professor and New York Times columnist Zeynep Tufekci, wrote this morning that he "Never saw this British expat guy who lives in Thailand (sus) at any point when we were in the caves".

And midway through his rant, for some inexplicable reason, he accused Unsworth of sex crimes.

Depending on who you ask, Musk was either just a huge attention seeker or a billionaire rocket inventor just trying to do his bit.
