Caroline Wozniacki oshakes her head to avoid a swarm of insects that swept through the court during Wimbledon action on Wednesday.

But she didn't look her age in making it 89 career match wins at Wimbledon by demolishing Dulgheru in the final two sets.

World No. 1 Roger Federer cruised to a straight set victory against Lukas Lacko on Wednesday to advance to the third round at Wimbledon.

The third set was one-way traffic as Federer killed the contest with a ferocious forehand after 90 minutes of brilliance.

After serving out for the first set, Federer didn't drop a single point on his serve in the second and kept that streak going until he was 30-0 up at 4-1 in the third - when Lacko finally sent a backhand victor down the line.

"I think it is important that, when you want to serve well, your point-for-point mentality is right", Federer said.

"It's nearly as if he doesn't need to play tennis matches, it comes so natural for him".

Raonic, who said he was battling a virus, had just four break-point opportunities in the match, winning one.

Even ultimate warrior Williams, who was unable to defend her 2016 Wimbledon title past year because she was pregnant, applauded a couple of her opponent's winners late in the second set before completing victory in 66 minutes.

In the first round, she started by conceding a tiebreaker against 58th-ranked Johanna Larsson before taking 12 of the last 15 games.

Halep, who moved easily into round two, said seeds were even more vulnerable at Wimbledon where players often arrive with little grasscourt practice. "You go from it being on clay where it usually is bouncing higher, and then all of a sudden the ball doesn't come up at all and you have to be a lot lower".

Earlier, Karolina Pliskova outplayed Victoria Azarenka, a two-time Grand Slam champion, to reach the third round.

Milos Raonic serves to John Millman at Wimbledon on July 4.

Lucas Pouille became the latest seeded player to exit the men's draw after a 6-4, 6-2, 6-7 (8), 3-6, 6-2 defeat to Austrian qualifier Dennis Novak.
