"Game of Thrones", "Saturday Night Live", "Westworld" and "The Handmaid's Tale" collected the most Emmy Award nominations on Thursday morning.

Last year's Outstanding Drama Series victor The Handmaid's Tale will look to defend its title from Game of Thrones, which is returning to eligibility this year after arriving too late in 2017 to compete in last year's Emmys.

Additional HBO projects that scored big were "Barry" with 13 noms, including comedy series; "Silicon Valley" with seven, including comedy series, and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" with four, including comedy series. If Legend wins, he'll join the rarified club of "EGOT" performers who've won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. Although it's up for top series honors, it drew only three supporting actor bids for cast members Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage. It got 23 nods in 2016 but wasn't eligible a year ago.

The 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by "SNL's" Colin Jost and Michael Che, will air live September 17 on NBC at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT). from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
