Next up, Los Angeles had to figure out what to do with its biggest restricted free agent: Julius Randle. Thomas became an unrestricted free agent Saturday.

Less than two hours after his offer was pulled, Randle agreed to a two-year, $18 million deal with Rondo's old team, the New Orleans Pelicans, according to an ESPN report. The 32-year-old National Basketball Association journeyman signed with the Lakers on July 2 after entering free agency following a one year stint with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Randle averaged 16.1 points, eight rebounds, and 2.6 assists in all 82 games with the Lakers last season. He also has played for the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bulls. The Lakers will be his fifth team in as many seasons. Rondo walks into a crowded backcourt, which includes Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball.

The Lakers have sought a veteran point guard to direct their offense for the better part of a year, after they traded D'Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets on June 22, 2017. They also could waive him and stretch his contract in order to lessen their salary cap burden.

Roger Federer debuts Uniqlo outfit at Wimbledon, 20-year Nike relationship collapses
Uniqlo doesn't make tennis footwear, so Federer wore white Nike shoes with light blue swooshes on Monday. "Mr. The "RF" logo did appear on the plastic bags that cover his rackets.

ESPN, which first reported the agreement, said Rondo will make $9 million.

Randle, 23, was originally drafted by the Lakers with the seventh overall pick of the 2014 draft.

Randle played in all 82 of L.A.'s games past year.

Both Davis and Randle played collegiately at Kentucky, and the Pelicans have made it a habit over the past few years to add former Wildcats to the roster.
