Toronto Police confirmed Monday afternoon that they had arrested Hedley frontman Jacob Hoggard, 34, in connection with several sexual assault cases.

According to police, sexual assault is defined as "any form of unwanted sexual contact".

Police say that over three dates in 2016, two women were assaulted on separate occasions. Hoggard, a Vancouver resident, is facing a charge of sexual interference as well as two counts of sexual assault causing bodily harm.

Hoggard's lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment.

The president attacked the iconic American company, claiming it was using the levies as an excuse to send jobs overseas. He's aiming to cultivate 2 million new U.S. riders by 2027 and for half of global revenue to come from outside the U.S.

The controversy surrounding Hoggard and Hedley's conduct began in February of this year when multiple fans, former backup dancers and other women came out on Twitter to trend the hashtag #OutHedley2K18 as part of a Me Too moment.

At the time, Hoggard made a public statement admitting to treating women with less respect than they deserve in his past, but asserting, "I have never engaged in non-consensual sexual behaviour in my life". The band also removed their music from consideration for the Junos and cancelled their performance at the awards gala, but finished their North American tour.

Among those making the allegations was a Calgary radio host, Katie Summers, who said Hoggard touched her inappropriately seven years ago.

Hoggard is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday (July 26).
