Iranian teen posted these videos of her dancing. They got her arrested

Maedeh Hojabri would be an ordinary teenager just about anywhere in the world.

The Iranian authorities struck again, arresting an 18-year-old woman for a supposedly provocative dance she videoed and posted to social media.

But Hojabri's videos are now suddenly at the center of the latest conflict between religious hard-liners and Iranian liberals seeking more liberties.

Often in these cases, such statements are made under duress in Iran.

Hojabri recorded and posted around 300 videos on Instagram of herself dancing in what Iran would deem an "immoral" manner.

Her videos appears on various Instagram accounts attributed to her, however none have been verified. You can watch them below.

After her detention Hojabri was featured in a TV program about social media, where she appeared with her face in shadow and was accused by her interviewer of posting images "that disrupt society".

Shabooneh, a local news website, said Ms Hojabri and three other individuals were detained on similar charges in recent weeks before being released on bail.

Andreas Pereira: 'Jose Mourinho promised to give me a chance'
According to Manchester Evening News , Victor said: "I've learned a lot of things, it's been a good year for me. At Valencia I have proven that I can participate at the highest level.

And that's not all.

Iranian police said they plan to shut down similar accounts on Instagram, and the judiciary is considering blocking access to the site. Such departures from their mores feed into the agenda of hardline politicians battling the more moderate President Hassan Rouhani to limit access to social media platforms, which they see as corrupting society's morals and endangering national security.

The news caused outrage across social media, notably among numerous Iranian diaspora.

Iranian woman are not allowed to dance in front of men except for close family members.

One Twitter user wrote: "I'm dancing so that they [the authorities] see and know that they can not take away our happiness and hope by arresting teenagers and (girls like) Maedeh".

After the Friday broadcast, Iranian woman have showed their support for the teenager by posting their own dance videos to hashtags that translate as #dance_to_freedom and #dancing_isn't_a_crime.

"In April, the judiciary arrested a senior Iranian official after a video posted online that showed young boys and girls dancing in public in the northeastern holy Shi'ite city of Mashhad for undermining public decency".
