Kawhi Leonard Rumors: This Team In ‘Driver’s Seat’ To Land Spurs Star

Last week, Las Vegas odds changed in the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes: the Toronto Raptors became the favorite (tied with San Antonio) to have Kawhi on the roster next season. Leonard was one of 35 players invited to participate in the camp, which will be led by Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.

Leonard, the third best player in the National Basketball Association, would instantly change life for the Lakes and may even bolster them into Western Conference Finals. The first - his short and long-term injury status - could be put to rest with his potential USA Basketball camp participation. Additionally, Leonard would be ineligible for a supermax contract if he signs with a new team as a free agent next summer.

As examples, no Blazers package includes Damian Lillard or C.J. McCollum, league sources said. You're only eligible to receive it if you're an All-NBA player on the team that drafted you.

"I think they're in the driver's seat for Kawhi because I think the Lakers have given up, the Sixers have given up", Windhorst said. While the Spurs probably enjoyed a good laugh at that offer, it's a smart move by the Celtics.

Intel official: Cyber threat warnings ‘blinking red’
Some of their targets include the federal government, the USA military, state and local governments, and U.S. businesses, he said. China, Iran and North Korea also continue to wage cyber warfare on America, he added.

Still, the bidding war among Boston, Philadelphia and the Lakers never materialized. Boston hasn't included five players, including Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward and Al Horford.

The Spurs reportedly won't allow opposing teams to contact Leonard directly and won't divulge any medical reports until after an agreement is already in place, leaving all of the question marks surrounding their superstar firmly in place.

Well, we still don't, but now at least we know what they weren't willing to part with for the disgruntled Spurs star.

The Spurs have likewise been apprehensive in searching for a deal, reports Wojnarowski. "San Antonio has been determined in demanding a sizable return on Leonard". In a vacuum, that would be well worth it, but as the scenario continues to unfold the obvious risks of giving up that much can be hazardous.
