Ohm Youngmisuk has covered the Giants, Jets and the National Football League since 2006.

Michael Beasley sees no problem with the roster the Lakers have built around LeBron James.

Of his new squad, one that more than a few NBA fans think will be a surreal experience to watch, Beasley said (via ESPN), "I think it is going to come together like a basketball team". I think this is the ideal next step for him.

Some informed mockups from SportsLogos.net suggested that Los Angeles would be channeling the retro look, and that seemed to be validated by the new Lakers jersey shirts that hit the team store this week.

Of course, the question isn't whether the Lakers' four veteran free-agent additions - Beasley, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee - can play, but whether they can mesh from a chemistry standpoint.

Heading into his 11th National Basketball Association season with his seventh franchise, Beasley knows something about locker room chemistry and the importance of professionalism.

"For that to be even be a narrative of personalities in this room is judgment enough for me. It is nothing to do with my maturity".

Beasley, 29, averaged 13.2 points and 5.6 rebounds with the Knicks last season. Beasley, entering his 11th National Basketball Association season, made the case that players regarded by some as knuckleheads can actually bring plenty of know-how to the table. "I feel like they can be anything they want to be".

Beasley demonstrated that mature mentality when asked about his expectations and goals with the Lakers, who will have to put in plenty of preseason work figuring out how to play with each other.
