Kisner drops out of lead at British Open

Woods in contention four shots behind the leaders three of them with the final round of the British Open coming up Sunday

If it wasn't exactly Tigermania, it was close.

Three players - including defending champion Jordan Spieth - are tied at the top of the leaderboard at 9-under par.

And that could lead to a lot of disappointed golf fans in the final round when it really matters.

In a weird moment on the 18th tee, a fan screamed right in the middle of Woods's backswing, but his drive still found the first cut on the right side.

After a shaky start that included bogeys at the second and third holes, Woods recovered with back-to-back birdies.

At the age of 42, finding a way to win is going to be a tall task.

"It certainly is possible", Woods said. "But I'm right there".

"It's been a few years since I've felt like this, in a major", Woods told USA Today. Woods even held the solo lead at one point.

And therein lies another problem for Woods.

"I played pretty similar to this at the Players Championship".

"I've always wanted to battle it out with Tiger in a major - who hasn't?"

Jo Swinson says Tories broke Brexit vote agreement
Earlier, Mrs May told MPs the breaking of the pair was "done in error". "It wasn't good enough and will not be repeated". Asked if the PM stood by her comments that the pact had been broken in error, a spokeswoman replied: "Yes, absolutely".

Spieth bogeyed No. 5 then made double-bogey at the sixth hole after taking a drop then three-putting.

The year is 2018, and after a near decade out of the mix, Tiger Woods is finally back in the Major hunt. Especially if we get the weather that has been forecast. Then he missed a 4-footer for par at No. 3.

For Woods, there's an added burden.

Runner-up in 2012 and a last-day leader in 2013 and 2015, Scott has given himself a fighting chance once again of becoming the first Australian since his childhood idol Greg Norman, a quarter of a century ago, to win the Open. And the fact remains it's been 10 years since he last won a major championship, no matter how much he still excites a crowd.

Between 1997 and 2008 he won 14 major championships, and in 2001 became the only player in history to win all four of them in a row, a feat nicknamed the Tiger Slam.

A victory would complete a most remarkable comeback for Woods, who has had four back surgeries, a marital scandal and a DUI arrest since his last major.

For a 20-minute spell, Woods's name was on top of the leaderboard, which prompted the idea that the other contenders, the young Turks...

"I'm not getting ahead of myself, I'm just in a good position".

Woods has enjoyed a resurgence in 2018, but has struggled in majors so far this year. He began his round in a group of players four shots off the pace at five-under after thrilling huge galleries with a round of 66 on Saturday.

He secured another birdie on the par five seventh, holing an uphill putt - this time there was no fist pump just a determined look in his eyes as he strode off the green.
