The France worldwide was on the brink of becoming a Liverpool FC player earlier this summer but a deal fell through at the final minute due to concerns over Fekir's medical.

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas is open to Liverpool renewing their efforts to sign Nabil Fekir.

"It seems that Liverpool could come back to the race".

The Swiss worldwide revealed that he previously tried to move to Liverpool a few years ago but that he is happy to be at the club where he aims to win tites. That's what I saw in the press, but I'm not informed.

"His transfer failed in June, but he hasn't been affected by it".

Maddock wrote on Twitter: "Fekir met Lyon president at World Cup - pleaded for chance to still join LFC".

The off again, on again saga surrounding Nabil Fekir's potential move to Liverpool took another dramatic twist this week, as the Frenchman has told Lyon's owner that he still has his heart set on joining the Reds.

"I'm very happy to be here".

But it looks like Liverpool have finally got their hands on another attacker and as long as there are no late complications, Shaqiri will become Klopp's third summer signing following the arrivals of Naby Keita and Fabinho.

"Maybe he will go to Liverpool or another club, but if he stays at Lyon, it will be a great year for him and us". It's a huge club with big history, big players and a fantastic coach.

The Reds, however, are now willing to play ball at £53m and will want the price dropped before they agree to sign Fekir in the coming weeks ahead of next season.
