Moscow: Crimea not on Trump-Putin agenda at summit

"The election meddling issue was definitely something we talked about", Mr Bolton told CBS's "Face the Nation".

"President Putin was pretty clear with me about it and my response was we're going to have to agree to disagree on Ukraine", he said.

Mr. Putin has "repeatedly stated and explained that Crimea can not be and will never be on the agenda because it is an inseparable part of Russia", Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. "We'll see what Russia does", Trump said, reiterating that the objective of his upcoming meeting with Putin is to improve relations between the U.S. and the Russian Federation, which are at a post-Cold War low.

He added, "So I'm concerned by what I hear". The president has been critical of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, suggesting that other member nations do not contribute enough to the alliance and that the United States carries too much of the burden. In fact, "Russia [is] open to dialogue and for joint search for compromises" when Putin meets with Trump in Helsinki on July 16, Peskov stressed. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) contradicted President Donald Trump blaming his predecessor President Barack Obama for allowing Russian Federation to annex Crimea. "That's why the president is going to speak with him about it again".

Bolton dismissed concerns that Trump has been more willing to criticize US allies than authoritarian leaders like Putin and North Korea's Kim Jong Un. 'I don't think anybody ought to have a case of the vapors over discussions we have in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation or the G-7 versus discussions we have with Putin or Kim Jong Un.

Auto tariffs could lead to $300B retaliation — European Union warns Trump
WALL STREET: Major U.S. benchmarks closed higher Monday, buoyed by a last-minute rally from technology companies. A tariffs war could adversely affect those jobs in a region known for its support of the USA president.

The Helsinki summit will mark the first formal one-on-one meeting between the two leaders since Trump took office, though the two met during an aside at last year's G-20 summit and have spoken at an APEC summit. Trump merely replied "We're going to have to see".

USA intelligence agencies have alleged that Russian hackers had tried to help Trump win the White House, something Russia has flatly denied.

He tweeted Thursday, "Russia continues to say they had nothing to do with Meddling in our Election!"

Bolton, who previously served in the George W. Bush administration, has always been skeptical that Pyongyang would give up its nuclear program, prompting North Korea's state media to denounce him as "human scum".

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace asked Bolton how that made him feel.
