Liverpool has handed the number 10 jersey to its Senegalese global forward Sadio Mane for the coming season.

The Senegal worldwide has switched from his previous number, 19, which he has worn since joining the club from Southampton in 2016, ahead of the new campaign.

Philippe Coutinho vacated the number when he moved to Barcelona in January of a year ago, and the Senegal worldwide has now taken over.

The number was previously worn by Philippe Coutinho before his departure to Barcelona in January and has also been owned by some past Liverpool legends, including John Barnes, Michael Owen and Jan Molby.

He accused the United States of working to weaken and "overthrow" the clerical establishment and create divisions in the country. Rohani said that the pressure has strengthened national unity in the country. "We've become more united than before".

If recent form is to suggest anything, though, Mane should enjoy the responsibility afforded by the number.

The 26 year old who has scored 33 goals for Liverpool wears jersey 10 for the national side and his fans will feel that the new kit is a befitting reward for his prolific form over the last two years.

However Mane scored important goals of his own last term, scoring twice across the Roma semi-final legs and again in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

However, they were eliminated at the group stages, losing 1-0 to Colombia after beating Poland 2-1 in their opening game.
