Starsport understands former Napoli boss Sarri will fly into London today to put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

Many believe the experienced coach's "Sarri Ball" tactics make for some of the most attractive football in Europe, and the Naples club came within a whisker of finally breaking Juventus' stranglehold on the Serie A title as they finished in second with an impressive 91 points last season.

The report suggests that the 59-year-old will receive a three-year contract on wages of €6m (£5.3m) per season.

There have been reports that the Blues' chiefs want to compensate Antonio Conte with big money for him to face the exit doors at Stamford Bridge.

He told Rangers TV: "It was not easy but when my agent said Gerrard is the head coach, I said okay no problem and was happy to come in".

Although we have the Europa League to compete in, the Premier League should be our primary focus and if Sarri can do a similar job to what Conte did in his first season with us, we just might have something to celebrate at the end of the campaign.

They have also spoken to the Italian about potential transfer targets.

A workaholic capable of bringing out the best in the players at his disposal, Sarri could be the flawless man to make Chelsea title challengers once again.

Peculiarly, it has been reported that Sarri will live at Chelsea's Cobham training ground upon completion of his move, as the former Empoli manager seeks to rebuild his squad ahead of the return of players on July 9.
