Ben Simmons now has an Australian teammate after the Philadelphia 76ers and Jonah Bolden agreed to a four-year deal worth a reported $7 million. The final two years of his deal are not guaranteed.

The Philadelphia 76ers sent center Richaun Holmes to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for cash on Friday.

The Sixers acquired Mike Muscala from the Hawks on Thursday in a three-team trade and re-signed Amir Johnson this offseason, so Holmes was expendable.

Israel uses live fire, tear gas against Palestinian protesters
But more recently some Gaza officials said the protests would end if Israel lifted an economic blockade of the Strip. It said "fighter jets commenced a wide-scale attack against Hamas military targets throughout the Gaza Strip".

Now, the Sixers have made another move.

Bolden's joining the team for this season should come as no surprise. Bolden reiterated that to the Inquirer on July 5. He played last season with the Israeli club, Maccabi Tel Aviv. He used the National Basketball Association out clause in his contract to join the Sixers this season. Bolden, a native of Australia, joined the 76ers for summer league this month and projects as a rotational big man for coach Brett Brown. In 156 career games, he has averaged 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds.

Holmes was selected by Philadelphia in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft after three seasons at Bowling Green.
