SUPREME SHOWDOWN: Trump Teases 'EXCEPTIONAL' Court Pick

When he was running for United States president, Donald Trump released a list of 11 candidates he would consider for a position on the Supreme Court. Last week the president conducted interviews on Monday and Tuesday, whittling down a list of 25 figures vetted by conservative groups. Now, with a vacancy on the bench, Trump can fulfil another of his campaign promises. The nomination is poised to cement the Supreme Court's conservative majority, vastly reshaping the court for decades to come.

Casey's opponent in the Senate race, U.S. Rep Lou Barletta, R-Hazleton, has criticized Casey for his opposition to a Hardiman nomination.

Don't worry, the Bush Administration said, we'll make sure there continues to be an African American voice on the Court.

Axios reports that Liberal group, Demand Justice, is planning to spend a minimum of $5 million to oppose Trump's pick, and will team up with other groups such as Planned Parenthood, MoveOn, and NARAL. Every one, you can't go wrong.

Groups that support abortion rights are planning a "Day of Action" for August 26, the anniversary of the 1920 adoption of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote.

The selection of Clarence Thomas would be loudly echoed by Trump nominating Amy Barrett-both in terms of right-wing identity politics and because of the sexual assault allegations leveled against Trump and Anita Hill's detailed, public testimony in which she, under oath, accused Justice Thomas of sexually harassing her in the workplace. He is hoping to replicate his successful announcement of Justice Neil Gorsuch previous year. He financed his law degree at the Georgetown University Law Center by driving a taxi.

Valentino explained that she and Appeals Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh would be strong conservative choices.

It is fitting to see the lovely pictures of Kate Middleton's baptism as her third child's special day approaches. The robe is a replica of the intricate lace and satin dress made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter in 1841.

Kavanaugh, 53, began his career as a clerk to Kennedy. Judge Brett Kavanaugh is an appellate judge from Maryland who has ruled against Obamacare and abortion rights in the past. He is an evangelical Christian whose book Lead Yourself First uses President Dwight Eisenhower, primatologist Jane Goodall, Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King Jr. and others as examples of "leaders who have used solitude to function more effectively". Politico reported Monday that Hardiman is one of the president's top candidates to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, who is retiring at the end of July.

Levey said: "The Democrats have very little chance of stopping the nominee where they are". Kavanaugh has ties to the Bush family, which has often drawn ire from Trump, but he has investigated the Clintons and recommended the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton.

Trump has moved quickly to prevent Democrats attempting a similar maneuver before November's midterm elections.

The 52-year-old Hardiman was nominated to the federal trial court by George W. Bush in 2003 and to the 3rd Circuit in 2007 and was confirmed by the Senate in a 95-0 vote.

Check back in with Mediaite for coverage of Trump's decision tonight.

"I'm very confident with this president's enthusiasm and with Leader McConnell's enthusiasm that they can get anybody confirmed", Mr. Leo said on ABC's "This Week". As an appeals court judge, Kethledge authored several notable opinions, including one that upheld the death penalty against a suspect who murdered a woman on federal land and a case in OH that questioned whether private citizens can sue the state for failing to enforce pollution controls.
