Keep low profile’ – US Embassy warns citizens ahead of Trump UK visit protests

Ahead of Trump's arrival, the U.S. embassy advised USA citizens in London to "keep a low profile" during Trump's visit.

Marches have been organised by the Stop Trump Coalition, Women's March London, Campaign Against Climate Change the People's Assembly and War on Want among others, and a giant "Trump Baby" blimp will fly over Parliament Square.

Khan's approval of the 19-foot blimp, paired with other protests activists have planned in London during Trump's visit, could add tension between the two leaders who have long sparred over their approaches to national security.

"For a USA president who retweets far-right Britain First propaganda, insults Londoners at times of tragedy, and refuses to condemn white supremacist marches at home, this insult is well deserved" said Labour MP David Lammy.

The bulk of the activity will take place in London, where people plan to gather first in Regent's Park outside of the USA ambassador's house on Thursday and again across central London for a series of protests throughout the day on Friday.

The president was delayed for nearly an hour when the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels he had been attending overran because he demanded member states increase their contributions faster than originally planned.

There are fears that demonstrations over Trump's three-day visit to the United Kingdom, where he will meet with British Prime Minister Theresa May and Queen Elizabeth, could turn violent.

Johnson added that the President "appreciates free speech" and that he was "very focused on the special relationship" between the United States and the UK. "I like Boris Johnson, I've always liked him", said Mr Trump.

Prime Minister May has abundant reasons to seek a close relationship with Trump - not least, the United States will be an even more vital trade partner once Britain leaves the European Union next year - but it is an uneasy embrace, given her opposition to many of his key policies.

England got carried away with talk of the final, insists Roy Keane
The spat came after Keane claimed his English co-pundits "got ahead of themselves" by daring to dream about football coming home. The former Manchester United player is being ridiculed for his orange glow online, with supporters comparing him to Umpa-Lumpas.

"He's come out of the woodwork now and I've seen it the last few days; there's huge positivity for what we've done here".

London Mayor Sadiq Khan approved the blimp earlier this week, ahead of Trump's visit to the city.

Mr Trump is believed to be spending the weekend playing golf at his Turnberry resort in South Ayrshire, which he bought in 2014, although there has been no official confirmation of his plans.

The Republicans Overseas UK group expects up to 100 people to attend its event on Friday evening to show there are people who are happy about the trip, chairwoman Sarah Elliott said.

The pro-Trump rally will breach the Public Order Act if it does not start at 1pm on Saturday at Temple Place, central London, and follow a route to Whitehall where it must end at 2pm, the Met said.
