If confirmed, Kavanaugh would follow in the footsteps of his predecessor, Justice Kennedy, who also spent the majority of his career in public service.

In 2006, he reported a debt of $60,000 to $200,000 from three credit cards and a loan.

White House spokesman Raj Shah told The Washington Post that Kavanaugh built up the debt by buying season tickets to Washington Nationals games and playoff games for himself and his friends. Shah offered no additional information on the tickets or the friends they were purchased for.

NARAL held a rally at the Capitol on Monday to protest Trump's Supreme Court candidate short list, and there are more demonstrations planned for the summer.

Missy Wesolowski, a statewide organizer for Florida Planned Parenthood affiliates, said Kavanaugh ruled in a case to delay an undocumented immigrant from getting access to abortion rights guaranteed by the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.

He said that Kavanaugh has assets of almost $1 million between the equity in his home and his retirement account.

Love Island: Alexandra decides which boys are dumped from the villa
It reads: "Islanders, tonight there will be a re-coupling in which the girls will choose which boy they want to couple up with". Love Island is already hotting up as the 2018 contestants look for passion. "I've got to go with my gut feeling".

The records also showed that Kavanaugh, a federal appellate judge nominated by President Donald Trump to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy, had between $45,000 and $150,000 in credit card debt in 2016, which was paid off by the following year.

Kavanaugh's life - from legal writings to credit card debts - will be turned upside down as the confirmation process begins and it's the latter that made news Wednesday night.

If Kavanaugh is confirmed, it would mean a significant shift to the right for the Supreme Court, according to the Judicial Common Space system, a metric developed by political scientists Lee Epstein, Andrew D. Martin, Jeffrey A. Segal, and Chad Westerland. Justice Stephen Breyer is the richest, with assets of $6.4 million to $16.6 million.

"Judge Kavanaugh has written some troubling things about environmental protections, consumer protections, commonsense gun safety laws - all of which should be carefully examined by this Senate and by the American people", Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said. As the town manager of Chevy Chase, Maryland, Kavanaugh's wife makes $66,000 annually.

The Kavanaughs send their two daughters to the Catholic private school of Blessed Sacrament, where tuition costs $10,025 per child.
