Uber 'Spotlight' Tool Helps Your Driver Find You

Uber wants to make sure your future rides go smoother.

Uber's in-app messaging feature has also been tweaked. Usually, meeting up with the driver is easy and you can be on your merry way. "Stay tuned for more features and updates later this year".

With Beacon, drivers place a glowing Uber logo on the windshield of their auto in the color of the rider's choosing, so that they can avoid getting into the wrong vehicle. If your driver is using a beacon, that'll be used instead of the Spotlight feature.

Beacons are available for drivers in 14 cities.

'All they have is the pin and the address. It isn't much, considering that you may miss your flight as a result, but we'll take what we can get.

A small group of pro-Trump supporters waved the USA flag alongside the Union Jack, chanting "We want Trump" and "Trump for 2020". Along with Mr Johnson, the man who had been leading the Brexit negotiations, David Davis, also quit in protest.

"Using Beacon, riders can personalize their pickup by selecting from an endless number of colours that glow on their driver's windshield for an instantly recognizable connection", reads a statement from Uber. Our on-time guarantee means your scheduled ride will arrive during the time period you select, or we'll give you Uber credit towards your next ride.

Uber first rolled out pre-scheduled pickups in 2016, allowing riders to book a trip up to 30 days in advance.

Uber didn't specify when the new features would be available, but an update is now rolling out in the Play Store. Drivers will receive a message so they know to look for, say, a yellow screen rather than a pink or green one.

Drivers can install it themselves rapidly, and remove it quickly too. You can download Uber from the App Store for free. As with messages you manually type out, these new pre-populated texts are read aloud to the driver, so they can keep their eyes on the road, not on their phone. The Uber app is adding a number of handy features to make pickups easier.
