Waltham native Thomas Hardiman still among Trump's Supreme Court finalists

Could President Donald Trump, who says he plans to announce his Supreme Court nominee Monday, deliver the Massachusetts-bred federal judge a surprise birthday present?

Other judges that have been widely considered to be finalist include Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge and Amy Coney Barrett. The president said he would meet with Vice President Mike Pence over the weekend and then announce his choice at the White House at 9 p.m. on Monday, July 9.

Pence met with Kethledge and Coney Barrett while in IN earlier this week, then sat down with Kavanaugh in Washington on Wednesday.

Frist, a lung and heart transplant surgeon who now lives in Nashville, said his fellow Republicans can no longer look the other way as "tweet by tweet, with each new assault on the Justice Department's independence, the bedrock principles of our party crumble". The Daily Mail declares in its headline: "Trump's female Supreme Court favorite belongs to a Christian group which helped inspire The Handmaid's Tale and tells her to submit to her husband - and members believe they healed teen girl by laying on of hands". Trump needs her vote.

Perhaps it's possible Hatch knows Trump's selection, as the president privately told a small group of people on Wednesday he had made his decision.

A Justice Lee wouldn't let activist lower courts distort the meaning of our laws and Constitution in order to impose their left-wing preferences on the nation.

Liberals are petrified that President Donald J. Trump's Supreme Court pick to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy could wind up being the deciding vote needed to overturn Roe v. Wade and send the issue of abortion back to the states. "But if you want to know why it is I have concerns, I can go on if you like". Trump has asked about Kethledge, advisers said. Hardiman, who was reportedly Trump's runner-up pick to replace Justice Antonin Scalia a year ago, appeared out of the running this time around.

Russia & Croatia Getting Ready For Quarter-Finals
A tweet from the bank's official account read: "If Russia reach the semi-finals, we'll release a new 1/2 ruble coin". Russian Federation and Croatia face off Satuday, July 7 in the final quarterfinal match of the 2018 World Cup.

Barrett, 46, clerked for the late Justice Antonin Scalia. Before that, he worked in the White House as a counsel and staff secretary during the George W. Bush administration.

The president nominated a total of 143 judges to date.

Kavanaugh, 53, helped investigate President Bill Clinton as part of independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr's team and then served as an aide to Bush before joining the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in 2006.

Mom-of-seven Judge Amy Coney Barrett, 46, a former Notre Dame law professor, became a right-wing heroine past year when she stood up to grilling from Senate Democrats over her religious faith.

Top contenders Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh.

But Trump reportedly may jump the gun once he decides on the right person, according to Axios.

Schumer also warned the president that nominating a jurist who would be hostile to Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that established a woman's right to an abortion, and to Obama's health-care law would be "cataclysmic" and damage Trump's legacy, added the person, who was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity.
