Warriors All-Stars are lobbying for Jamal Crawford signing in free agency

If there's one team in the National Basketball Association that doesn't need to make many moves this offseason, it's the Golden State Warriors.

But they have hopes of luring available veterans who may be willing to accept reduced contracts to compete for a championship.

Crawford, 38, has spent nearly half his life in the National Basketball Association, playing for seven teams including the Warriors in 2008-09.

According to ESPN's Zach Lowe, the Dubs are interested in the 38-year-old and the feeling is mutual.

This is the third consecutive summer that there has been speculation about Crawford joining the Warriors.

Paul George decides to become free agent
Paul George is one of the most intriguing names in free agency at this point in time, as it appears that he is torn on what to do. Before his trade, George had told the Pacers that he planned to sign with the Lakers in free agency this summer.

Durant has made a decision to sign a two-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Saturday because the deal can not become official until the league's off-season moratorium ends on Friday.

"Green and Durant are already lobbying". Some of the assistant coaches want him, too. It will be enough to get Myers on the phone with Crawford's agent, Aaron Goodwin, when the free agency period begins at 9 p.m. on Saturday.

The Warriors could offer Crawford either all or part of their taxpayer mid-level exception worth $5.3 million next year, or the veteran minimum, worth about $2.4 million. Haynes had reported Durant planned to opt out of the final year of his deal in order to finalize a contract with more lucrative terms. Crawford won the Teammate of the Year award in 2018.

However, even if it makes the most sense for Kevin Durant to remain in the Bay Area for financial, basketball and personal reasons, we can dream, right?
