Harvey Weinstein pleads not guilty in third sex assault case

Weinstein was allowed to remain out on the same bail conditions, attorney Benjamin Brafman said outside court.

Weinstein has been free on $1 million bail.

Weinstein's Lawyer Ben Brafman has said he expects his client to be "fully vindicated" and has dismissed the predator charge as "simply not justified".

His latest Manhattan arraignment came after he pleaded not guilty on June 5 to allegedly raping one woman at a Manhattan hotel in 2013 and forcing another to perform oral sex on him in 2004.

The new charges include two counts of predatory sexual assault, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison upon conviction.

Mr. Brafman added: "We anticipate based on what prosecutors have said that there may be more charges".

Weinstein was one of the most powerful figures in the film industry until a year ago, when The New Yorker and The New York Times published accounts from several women accusing him of various forms of sexual assault and misconduct.

The company has already said it will move production of its Land Rover Discovery to Slovakia from Solihull by early next year. In 2017, the company sold 621,000 cars, with 80 per cent of them going to 130 countries.

Cyrus R Vance Jr said: "If you are a survivor of the predatory abuse with which Mr Weinstein is charged, there is still time to pursue justice".

Since then, more than 40 women, including actresses Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie, have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.

Reporting by The New York Times and New Yorker that brought down Weinstein and spawned the sexual harassment watershed won the Pulitzer Prize for public service, the most prestigious award in USA journalism.

London police and Los Angeles prosecutors have also been reviewing sexual assault accusations against Weinstein.

Film actress Rose McGowan, who alleged Weinstein raped her in 1997 in Utah. They include: the film actor Rose McGowan, who said Weinstein raped her in 1997 in Utah; the Sopranos actor Annabella Sciorra, who said he raped her in her NY apartment in 1992; and the Norwegian actor Natassia Malthe, who said he attacked her in a London hotel room in 2008. Neither the district attorney's office nor Haleyi's attorney, Gloria Allred, would confirm that Haleyi is the accuser in the new charges.

Weinstein, who produced movies including "Pulp Fiction" and "Shakespeare in Love", has denied all allegations of nonconsensual sex, with Brafman challenging the credibility of his accusers and the reporting that led to his downfall.

The #MeToo movement has seen people around the world come forward with cases of sexual mistreatment, leading to the downfall of powerful men across multiple industries. "Are you ready to state unequivocally that Mr. Weinstein is ready to take the witness stand and testify as well?"
