The terrifying incident happened whilst the 9-year-old boy was selling lemonade at a roadside stand in Monroe, North Carolina on Saturday local time.

The boy's lemonade stand was near the roundabout at the entrance to the St. John's Forest development off Weddington Road, and a teenager approached the boy around 3 p.m., the sheriff's office said.

It's reported he got away with the child's earnings of $17.

The boy had less than $20 in cash on him, police spokesman Tony Underwood told ABC News affiliate WSOC.
